A few weeks ago, I assessed areas of my life and decided to take off some of the hats to refocus in areas where I thought my energy was needed.
One of the hats I decided to take off was running a local job board called, Research Triangle Jobs.
Since writing about my decision to not run the site, a few friends had reached out and shared ideas to either find a new owner by transferring of the project or selling it.
The thought had crossed my mind when I made the decision to stop running the site. But I decided against it.
The decision was quite easy to make.
The purpose of the exercise in taking off hats was an exercise in trying to decide where I wanted to put my energy.
With this in mind, finding another owner or even transferring to somebody else meant a higher usage of energy than I wanted to spend.
I thanked my friends for the support and idea.
Then spent one evening setting up a redirect for all the pages for the job board. And wrote a brief two sentence message to thank folks for the support.
Afterwards, I closed my laptop and went to bed.
Since closing the site, I haven’t really thought about it much.
And what I gain is, one less thing for my mind to latch onto throughout the week.
