The other day I was deleting a bunch of files from MindNode, a mind-mapping app for iOS and after I was done cleaning up, I was looking for a file I was recently working on and couldn’t find it.
I was panicking because it was a mind-mapping session that took me an hour to complete and although I could remember some of the things that I had captured and probably could do it again, at that point I was defeated and pissed .
I wondered if iCloud had a recover feature like Dropbox and to my delight it does. So here’s how to rescue deleted files from iCloud.
-
You’ll need to log onto icloud.com from your browser.
-
Once you’re logged in click on the Settings icon or you can type icloud.com/#settings to access it directly.
-
In the bottom left hand corner there is a section titled Advanced, there is an option titled, Restore Files. Click on that link.
-
Click the checkbox next to the file you want to restore and then click on Restore which should show once you select a file.
After you restore the file, you should see it show up again in your iCloud folder or if you’re restoring a file for a specific app, it should reappear within the app.
