I’m giving a couple of tech talks this year so this article on ingredients for an awesome tech talk really helped. I thought each of the points were really solid. Definitely will try incorporating them into my talks.
I especially liked points three and four; how did you make it work and where to get started? I like how point three allows you to take the audience through the often missed opportunity of how you got it to work and how you arrived at your solution.
I also like point four because you’re giving your audience the chance to bypass some of the obstacles you had to overcome in learning a new technology and help them hit the ground running.
